◎简 介
东和大学的主将国分次郎（市川雷蔵 饰）出生于一个富裕殷实的家庭，经营公司父亲常与情人厮混，母亲则尽享牌桌的乐趣。与父母相比，次郎有如生长在泥沼中的一朵白莲，他的心地纯净无瑕，自顾自活在纯粹的剑道世界里，对世俗的一切全不上心。担任主将以来，次郎一门心思扑在剑道部的建设上来，将夺取全国大赛冠军定为终极目标。为此他亲加训练，还时而从父亲处筹款资助剑道部。他以苦行的风格管理着这群充满朝气和干劲的年轻人，但是却遭致周围人的非议。因竞选主将失败的贺川（川津祐介 饰）心生忌恨，时刻企图将这个纯粹近乎神明的次郎拖入泥沼…… 本片根据三岛由纪夫的同名原著改编，系导演三隅研次“剑三部曲”的第二部。
